The Chrome extension
The Spiich Chrome extension puts the assistant in a side panel beside whatever page you are on. It reads the current page, recognizes the CRM record you are viewing, and lists your open tasks.
Before you start
- Chrome 116 or newer, or another Chromium browser with a side panel.
- A Spiich account you can sign in to at app.spiich.ai.
The extension is the same assistant as the web app, docked to the side of your browser instead of living in another tab. That matters because it can see what you are looking at.
Install it
Add it from the Chrome Web Store
Open the Spiich listing, click Add to Chrome and confirm the permissions prompt. In the web app you can also press
Cmd+KorCtrl+Kand choose Get the browser extension.Pin the icon
Pin Spiich to the Chrome toolbar. There is no keyboard shortcut for the panel, so the icon is how you reach it.
Open the side panel
Click the Spiich icon. Its tooltip reads
Spiich - Browser Extension. The panel opens on the right and stays there while you browse.
Open the panel while signed out
The login screen shows Email and Password fields, and below them the line Already use Spiich in your browser?
Let it adopt your Spiich session
Click Open spiich.ai, sign in to the web app in the tab that opens, then switch back to the panel. While the login screen is showing, the extension checks every couple of seconds for a signed-in Spiich tab in the same browser and signs you in from it. No code to copy.
Or type your credentials instead
Enter your Spiich email and password in the panel and click Log in.
You land on Chat and Tasks
The panel switches to two tabs, Chat and Tasks, with a history button top left and a plus button top right for a fresh conversation.
What the side panel gives you
- Suggestions from the page you are on. About a second after the panel opens, a row of one-tap chips appears above the message box: search, save a contact, summarize, research, draft an email. Spiich reads the readable text of the page, up to the first 8,000 characters, and clicking a chip sends it as a question with the page as context.
- Records and saved prompts in the message box. Type
@to point the assistant at a CRM person, company or deal. Type/to insert one of your saved prompts from the Prompt Library. Pasting a CRM record link turns it into a record mention on its own. See Mention CRM records. - Tools and Thinking. The Tools button below the message box switches on extra abilities for that conversation. Web search is always there. Email search and Calendar search appear once your mailbox is connected, renamed to match: Gmail search and Google Calendar, or Outlook search and Outlook Calendar. The brain icon beside it turns Thinking on. Your choices are remembered. Manage MCP connections sits at the bottom of the same menu, where you connect and remove MCP servers, either just for yourself or for the whole workspace.
- Attachments. Drag a file onto the browser window, paste it into the message box, or use the attach button. Pasting a very long block of text becomes an attached
.txtfile instead of flooding the box. Oversized files are refused with a message naming the file and the limit. - Email drafts you can actually send. A drafted email appears as an editable card with To, Cc, Subject and body, plus buttons that hand it to your mail client: Open in Gmail or Open in Outlook web, and Open in Mail. A copy button and a reset-to-original button are always there.
- Chat history. The list icon at the top left opens your recent conversations.
The CRM record indicator
Open a person, company or deal in your connected CRM and the panel quietly shows which record you are looking at, so your next question is already about that record. It reads the page's web address only, and only for the CRM your workspace has connected: Attio (person, company and deal pages), HubSpot on any regional domain (contact, company and deal pages), and Pipedrive on your own domain (person, organization and deal pages). The X button dismisses it.
The Tasks tab
Tasks lists your open Spiich tasks grouped as Overdue, Today and Upcoming, each with its due date and the reason it exists. Tick the checkbox to complete one, or use Open in Spiich to open it in the web app. With nothing outstanding it tells you that you are all caught up.
Turn on the microphone
Voice input needs a one-time browser permission.
Start a recording
Click the record button in the message box, or press
Rwhen your cursor is not in a text field.Cmd+JorCtrl+Jmoves the cursor into the message box.Approve the setup tab
Spiich opens a tab titled Enable microphone access and asks Chrome for the permission after a moment. If it does not ask by itself, click Grant Access.
Allow it
Approve Chrome's prompt. The tab shows You're all set! and closes itself. Voice input works in the panel from then on.
Limits
- Chrome 116 or newer only. The extension is distributed through the Chrome Web Store, and Chrome updates it for you.
- It never reads browser-internal pages, so no suggestions appear on
chrome://,chrome-extension://,about:,edge://ordevtools://addresses. - Record detection only works for a CRM your workspace has actually connected, and only inside the same CRM workspace Spiich is connected to.
- A very long email draft will not fit in a compose link. Spiich copies it to your clipboard instead and tells you where to paste it.
- The extension cannot record a meeting. That is the desktop recorder's job, and only its job.
If something goes wrong
- The login screen will not go away. Click Open spiich.ai, sign in in that fresh tab, then return to the panel. If it still will not adopt the session, type your email and password into the panel.
- Voice input does nothing, or the setup tab keeps reopening. Chrome has the microphone blocked for the extension. Open
chrome://settings/content/microphone, remove Spiich from the blocked list, reload, then click Try Again. If it says the microphone is already in use, quit whatever else has it. - The indicator says "Record not found". Either the CRM is not connected, the record has not synced yet, or the page belongs to a different CRM workspace than the one Spiich is connected to. Check
Settings > Integrations, then dismiss the indicator and ask your question directly. See CRM sync problems.
