Teams

Teams group members so each group carries its own agent personality, enrichment provider and monthly credit budget, with an optional personal cap on every member inside it.

Before you start

  • You are an admin of the Spiich workspace.

A team is a group of members that carries its own settings: how the assistant talks about your business, which enrichment provider it uses, how many credits the group may spend in a month, and whether its members may build background agents. Everything lives at Settings > Team Management, which is admin-only.

Every workspace starts with one team, the default team, and everyone lands in it. Opening the default team edits the organization-wide defaults themselves, which apply to everyone unless another team overrides them.

Create a team

  1. Open Team Management

Click Settings in the sidebar, then Team Management in the Account group. A summary strip at the top shows how many teams exist, how many members they hold, credits used this month and how much is budgeted.

  2. Add the team

Click New team, type a Team name such as Sales EMEA, and click Create.

  3. Put people in it

Click the new team's card to open it. In the Members panel click Add member and search by name, email or current team. Repeat for each person.

  4. Give it a budget

In the Credit Budget panel type a monthly cap, or leave it blank for Unlimited. The field saves itself.

  5. Override the agent if you need to

Open Agent Customization on the team page and change only the fields this team should read differently. Anything left empty keeps inheriting the organization default.

Rename a team from the pencil icon next to its name. Deleting one moves its members back to the default team.

Give a team its own agent personality

Four fields on the team page override the organization defaults: Description, Value proposition, Target customer and Custom agent instructions. Each one is independent. A field you fill in is labelled Custom; a field you leave empty reads Inherits org and its placeholder shows the organization value it would use.

This is how one team sells to a different segment without the whole workspace changing voice. See Teach Spiich how you work for the personal layer on top of it.

Choose an enrichment provider

The same panel carries an enrichment provider selector, labelled Inherited or Team override. It decides which provider that team's contact enrichment runs against.

If you have added your own provider API key under Settings > Integrations in the Enrichment providers section, the key alone is not enough. The team also has to select that provider here, otherwise enrichment keeps running the default way. See Credits and usage.

Credit budgets and personal caps

The Credit Budget panel caps how many credits the whole team may spend in a month, drawn as a gauge with a warning state and an over-budget state. Each member row in the Members list also has a number box for a personal monthly cap; blank means No cap.

The two caps stack. Every action has to fit under the team budget and under that person's own cap, and the stricter one wins. When the team budget is reached, that team's members are blocked until you raise the cap or the month resets. Budgets reset on the 1st of the month, UTC.

Split the workspace allowance across people

Next to New team you may see a Usage limits button. It shares the workspace's daily allowance across active members as percentages. Enter a percentage for anyone who needs a fixed share and leave the rest blank, and the blank ones automatically split whatever is left over. The dialog shows how much is allocated and how much is unallocated, and the list is searchable.

Custom shares can total up to 100 percent, and the request is refused if you try to allocate more than that. Only active, accepted members can be given a share. When someone reaches their share, their new requests continue on the Fast thinking tier rather than stopping.

The button only appears for workspaces that actually have a metered daily allowance, so many workspaces never see it.

Let a whole team build background agents

The Background Agents panel on the team page has one switch, Allow the team to set up agents. Turn it on and everyone in that team can create, edit and delete background agents, in chat and on the agents page.

Grants only ever add. Somebody who already has access individually from User Management, or because they are an admin, keeps it when this switch is off. That is why the per-person control shows Via team for someone whose access comes from here.

Limits

  • Team Management is admin-only. A member who opens the page or a team URL is redirected to Settings > User Settings.
  • The default team has no remove control on member rows, because it is where members land.
  • Editing the default team's Agent Customization edits the organization settings, not a team override.
  • Budgets and caps are monthly and reset on the 1st, UTC. There is no mid-month reset.
  • Usage limit shares are whole percentages and cannot total more than 100 percent across the workspace.

If something goes wrong

  • Members of one team are blocked and the budget gauge is full. The team hit its shared monthly budget. Raise the number in Credit Budget, or clear it for Unlimited. It also clears itself on the 1st.
  • One person runs out much sooner than everyone else. Either their personal cap is lower than the team budget, or their share under Usage limits is too small. Check both.
  • A team's enrichment still uses the default provider. The provider key is connected under Settings > Integrations, but the team selector is still Inherited. Set it to Team override and pick the provider.

Frequently asked questions

No. Each member sits in exactly one team, and removing them from a team moves them back to the default team. That is what makes the credit budget a real ceiling: there is only ever one budget an action can be charged against.
