Connect Attio

An Attio workspace admin approves Spiich once and people, companies, deals, tasks, notes and lists sync both ways. Custom objects arrive switched off, and call recordings from the past 28 days are queued at connect.

Before you start

  • You are an admin in the Attio workspace you want to connect.
  • No other CRM is connected to your Spiich workspace.

Attio is one of the three CRMs you connect yourself. Because Attio lets you define your own objects, the connection discovers more than the standard set, and you choose what the agent may touch afterwards.

Connect Attio

  1. Open the CRM section

Go to Settings > Integrations and find CRM platform. During signup this is step 3 of 4, Connect your CRM.

  2. Click Connect Attio

If the button reads Unavailable, another CRM is already connected to this workspace.

  3. Approve on Attio

Attio's authorization screen lists what Spiich is asking for: read and write on records and their permissions, notes, tasks, lists and list entries, and object configuration; read on meetings, call recordings and workspace members; and permission to manage its own webhooks. Approve it.

  4. Let the import run

Spiich registers webhooks in Attio, starts the first import and queues your Attio call recordings from the past 28 days. Chat shows Setting Up Your Workspace until it finishes.

What syncs

The first import brings in people, companies, deals, tasks, notes and lists. After that, Attio pushes webhooks for record, note, task and list changes, so edits made in Attio show up in Spiich without a poll. Once an hour Spiich re-reads your object configuration, your list definitions and your workspace members.

Writes go the other way in the same action. A record, task or note created or edited in Spiich, by you or by an agent, is pushed to Attio immediately. If Attio refuses the write you will see a message beginning Attio error: and Spiich undoes its own change so the two never drift apart.

Attio lists

Lists are an Attio-only feature and Spiich treats them as first-class. From Chat you can ask the assistant to read list entries, add a person or company to a list, and update the values on a list entry.

Add someone to a list

Add John at Northwind to the sales pipeline list and set the stage to Discovery.

The assistant warns before creating a duplicate entry for a record already on the list, because Attio allows the same record to appear twice.

Two things to know. A single request adds at most 10 entries, so a long list is several asks. And list definitions and their fields refresh roughly hourly, so a list or field you created in Attio moments ago may not be selectable yet.

Custom objects arrive switched off

Spiich discovers every object your Attio workspace defines, not just People, Companies and Deals. Custom objects are imported switched off, deliberately, so nothing new becomes visible to the agent without someone deciding it should be.

  1. Open Object Types

Go to Settings > Object Types. Standard objects sit at the top; anything you defined sits under Custom objects.

  2. Turn on what the agent should see

Flip Visible on the objects the agent should read, and Writable on the ones it may change.

  3. Describe the object

Click the description line under the object name and say what it represents. That context is what stops the agent guessing. Descriptions hold up to 2000 characters; press Cmd/Ctrl+Enter to save or Escape to cancel.

Attio's internal Users and Workspaces objects are never imported at all. Full detail on the switches is in Control what Spiich can see and change.

Limits

  • Tasks can only be partly edited. Attio's API allows Spiich to change a task's deadline, completion state, linked records and assignees. Task content and formatting cannot be edited from Spiich once the task exists; change those in Attio.
  • Call recordings go back 28 days. At connect, Spiich queues the Attio call recordings from the previous 28 days. Older recordings are not backfilled.
  • Notes import 50 at a time, because that is Attio's own cap on the endpoint, so a workspace with a lot of notes takes longer on the first pass.
  • Lists are Attio-only. The list tools do not appear on HubSpot or Pipedrive workspaces.
  • Emails that arrive through Attio are private to the people on them. An Attio-sourced email is visible only to the people who were actually on the message, matched by address or workspace member. HubSpot email, the only other CRM email Spiich syncs, follows HubSpot's own team-visible behaviour instead.
  • No self-service disconnect. Like the other CRMs, a connected Attio shows a greyed-out Connected button. Switching CRMs is a support request.

If something goes wrong

A new Attio list or list field is not selectable in Chat. List definitions refresh about once an hour. Wait for the next cycle and ask again.

An object row shows `Sync failed`. Hover the badge for the reason Attio returned. A missing permission is fixed by an admin clicking Reauthenticate on the banner in Chat; an object that does not exist on your plan is skipped by design.

*Chat shows Reconnect to Attio. Spiich needs a permission the current connection does not hold. Only admins see the banner and only admins can run the flow, and you must sign in to the same Attio workspace: a different one is refused with Attio workspace mismatch. Please try again.*

*An expanded object says No attributes have synced for this object type yet.*** The object exists but its fields are still importing. Wait a few minutes and reload.

Frequently asked questions

Attio's API only exposes a task's deadline, completion state, linked records and assignees for editing. Spiich can change those. Task content and formatting have to be edited in Attio itself.
