What is Agentforce for Sales?

Agentforce for Sales is the set of AI agents and assistant features Salesforce builds into Sales Cloud. It drafts sales emails, scores deals, researches accounts, nurtures inbound leads, finds prospects and updates opportunities. Since 3 September 2026 it comes with the Core, Advanced and Max editions, and it is paid for in Flex Credits, Conversations or a per-user add-on.

On 3 September 2026, Salesforce replaced Enterprise, Unlimited and Agentforce 1 with Core at $195 a user a month, Advanced at $395 and Max at $550 (Salesforce), all billed annually (pricing). Every edition gate, price and menu path below was checked on Salesforce's own pages on 12 October 2026.

Which Salesforce editions include Agentforce for Sales?

Core, Advanced and Max include Agentforce for Sales. Core includes Sales Emails, conversation intelligence and opportunity scoring, with 500,000 Flex Credits a year. Advanced adds account research and lead scoring. The Engagement, prospecting and pipeline agents come with Max, or as a paid add-on on Core and Advanced. Starter Suite and Pro Suite get none of these.

Checked on Salesforce's Sales Cloud pricing page on 12 October 2026, with prices per user a month, billed annually. "Add-on" is what the page calls "available for purchase", and it says AI can be added to Core and above. Salesforce sells the sales agents as the Agentforce for Sales add-on, from $125 per user a month.

Starter Suite and Pro Suite include a general Employee Agent at no extra cost, which summarizes records and drafts emails (Salesforce). Salesforce contradicts itself on Momentum, which turns recorded calls into CRM updates. Its pricing page marks Momentum both included and "coming soon" on Core and Advanced, while its announcement says Core includes it. Confirm it with your account executive before you count on it.

How much does Agentforce for Sales cost?

Core, Advanced and Max include Agentforce for Sales' base features and a credit pool at no extra fee. An agent action draws 20 Flex Credits, at $500 per 100,000, so it costs $0.10. Core's credits cover 25,000 actions a year. The Engagement, prospecting and pipeline agents cost from $125 per user a month on Core and Advanced.

Flex Credits$500 per 100,000 credits20 credits ($0.10) per agent action, 30 ($0.15) per voice action

Prices come from Salesforce's Agentforce pricing page, checked 12 October 2026. An org pays either in Flex Credits or in Conversations, not both. Its worked examples leave out Data 360 credits, so budget for those if your agents use Data 360.

For 20 reps on the Engagement, prospecting and pipeline agents, Core plus the add-on lists at $76,800 a year ($320 a seat a month), before the Engagement agent's charge per prospect. Max costs $132,000 for the same 20 reps, and adds account research, Sales Planning, Spiff, Maps and 2.75 million credits. Customers still on Enterprise or Unlimited keep their existing pricing (Salesforce).

What results have sales teams reported?

Salesforce's own sales team reports the largest Agentforce for Sales numbers: its agents contacted 130,000 leads and created 3,200 opportunities in four months, says its President of Sales, Adam Alfano. Siemens now engages every one of its 2,500-plus monthly inbound leads, across 132 countries.

At Perk, the prospecting agent tripled call volume and has built 60% of Perk's North American pipeline.

How do I turn on Agentforce for Sales?

An admin turns on Agentforce for Sales in Salesforce Go: click the gear icon, then Salesforce Go, search for Agentforce for Sales and click Turn On. Then switch on an agent template such as Engagement, assign access to managers and reps, create the agent's user and mailbox, upload the files it answers from, and build and activate the agent.

  1. Check the license. The Engagement, prospecting and pipeline agents need Max or the add-on. Salesforce's help pages still list the old Enterprise and Unlimited editions, so confirm which license covers each agent before you start.
  2. Turn on Agentforce. Click the gear icon, then Salesforce Go. Search for Agentforce for Sales, and click Turn On in the Turn On Agentforce card.
  3. Switch on an agent template. On the Agentforce for Sales page, under Start with an Agent Template, switch on Engagement, the agent Salesforce used to call Lead Nurturing. Salesforce turns on the features it relies on, such as Einstein Activity Capture and Email Productivity.
  4. Give people access. Next to Manage Access for Managers and Users, click Manage. Assign Use Engagement Agent to reps and Configure Engagement Agent to the managers who will set it up.
  5. Create the agent's user and mailbox. The agent works as its own Salesforce user, with an Einstein Agent license. Connect a Google or Microsoft mailbox that only the agent uses, with user-level Einstein Activity Capture.
  6. Give it your material. Upload product FAQs, case studies and other files to a data library. The agent answers prospect questions from them.
  7. Build, test and activate. Set when and how often it emails, its language and tone, and which leads it gets. Test on a handful of leads first.
  8. Connect reps' inboxes. Each rep connects their email to Einstein Activity Capture in their personal settings. The agent's emails then show on the record and can carry the rep's booking link.

Steps come from Salesforce's Engagement setup guide and its Trailhead module on setting up the agent, checked 12 October 2026. Pipeline management runs in suggestive mode, where reps review and approve each update, or in autonomous mode, where it updates opportunities itself (Salesforce).

What can't Agentforce for Sales do?

Agentforce for Sales works from your Salesforce data and the inboxes connected to it. The Engagement agent emails leads from one mailbox, capped at 1,800 emails a day on Gmail. "Unmetered" use on the add-on can still draw credits above a daily average, testing uses credits, and unused credits expire at the end of the contract term.

  • The Engagement agent emails from one mailbox. It sends up to 1,800 emails a day from a Gmail account or 9,800 from Microsoft Exchange, then stops until the next day. It won't reply to prospects on your own email domain, and it doesn't work while Activity 360 Reporting is on (Salesforce).
  • Its emails say they come from AI. When the agent sends as a seller, each email opens with an AI disclosure (Salesforce). Turning on manual approval removes it, and a rep then has 14 days to approve each email before the agent cancels it.
  • It is billed per prospect. The Engagement agent uses one Conversation when it sends a prospect the first email, covering every nudge and reply after it. Conversations list at $2, and on Flex Credits, Salesforce's rate card prices each sales lead worked at 400 credits, also $2.
  • "Unmetered" has a fair-use threshold. Pipeline management on the add-on draws no credits while the org averages under 100 AI model calls a day per licensed user. Above that, Salesforce may charge Flex Credits, and every user of the agent needs the add-on (Salesforce). Pipeline management in languages other than English is in beta.
  • Testing costs credits. Previewing an agent in Agentforce Builder, running tests and using a sandbox are all metered (Salesforce). Unused Flex Credits don't roll over into the next term (Salesforce).

Frequently asked questions

Yes, on Core, Advanced and Max, which include Agentforce for Sales and a yearly pool of Flex Credits. Starter Suite and Pro Suite include a general Employee Agent but none of the sales agents, and Salesforce only sells AI add-ons from Core. See HubSpot vs Salesforce for what each Salesforce edition costs next to HubSpot.
Salesforce folded it into Agentforce. In 2025, Agentforce add-ons and editions replaced the Einstein add-ons and Einstein 1 Editions (Salesforce). Some features keep the old name, such as Einstein Activity Capture. See the best CRMs for B2B sales teams.
Half a cent. Flex Credits cost $500 per 100,000, and a standard agent action uses 20, so it costs $0.10. Voice actions use 30. Credits included in an edition belong to the org, not the seat. See Pipedrive vs Salesforce for how that compares with a CRM that bundles its AI.
Salesforce says it does "not currently" use customer data to train generative AI models, in its Agentforce privacy FAQ. See does AI train on your CRM data?
HubSpot includes its chat assistant on every plan and runs its agents on monthly credits, with 3,000 on Sales Hub Professional. Its prospecting agent uses 100 credits, $1, per lead it recommends (HubSpot catalog). Salesforce includes more on Core but sells its sales agents as an add-on. See HubSpot AI and Attio vs Salesforce.
Yes. Agentforce is one option, and sales tools such as Spiich write meeting notes, opportunity updates and follow-up tasks into Salesforce. See Spiich for Salesforce.

Which Agentforce feature should a sales team turn on first?

Turn on the Agentforce for Sales features Core already includes: conversation intelligence and Sales Emails. They need no add-on, and the pipeline agent later builds its opportunity updates from that call data. After two weeks, open five opportunities with recorded calls and check that each call is logged and transcribed, with its action items, without anyone typing.

Try a paid agent next, on a slice of your inbound leads. After a month, divide what it cost in Conversations or Flex Credits by the meetings it booked. If a meeting costs more than a rep's time to book one by hand, change which leads it works before you buy more.
