What is HubSpot AI?

HubSpot AI is the set of AI tools built into HubSpot, sold under the Breeze name. Every plan, including the free one, gets Breeze Assistant, a chat assistant that summarizes records, drafts emails and updates the CRM. Paid plans add agents that prospect, research accounts and update deals. The agents run on monthly HubSpot Credits.

For a sales team on HubSpot, five tools matter: Breeze Assistant, Notetaker, the prospecting agent, the data agent and deal progression. Since July 2026, admins activate and monitor HubSpot's agents from one page, Agent Hub. Every plan gate, menu path and price below was checked on HubSpot's own pages on 9 October 2026.

Which HubSpot plans include AI?

Every HubSpot plan includes Breeze Assistant. Sales Hub Starter adds Notetaker, the prospecting agent and the data agent, with 500 credits a month. Professional adds deal progression and conversation intelligence, with 3,000 credits. Enterprise adds no new AI tools, but doubles the transcription hours and has 5,000 credits. Credits belong to the account, not the seat.

Sales Hub planPrice per seat a monthCredits a monthSales AI added at this tier
Free$0NoneBreeze Assistant
Starter$20500Notetaker, prospecting agent, data agent
Professional$90, plus $1,500 onboarding once3,000Deal progression (beta), conversation intelligence, 750 transcription hours
Enterprise$150, plus $3,500 onboarding once5,0001,500 transcription hours

Prices are HubSpot's US list prices for Sales Hub on annual billing, from its Sales Hub pricing page, where Starter currently shows a limited-time $7. Some visitors in Europe see a single HubSpot plan instead. On that plan, Enterprise GTM seats start at €175 a month and 5,000 to 15,000 credits are included each month (HubSpot). Plan gates and transcription hours, which are per account per month, come from HubSpot's product catalog.

Only users with a paid seat can spend credits, so free and view-only users can't run agents (HubSpot). Notetaker needs a Core, Sales or Service seat, and deal progression needs a Sales or Service seat.

How much does HubSpot AI cost?

HubSpot AI has no separate subscription. Breeze Assistant comes with every plan, and Notetaker with paid seats from Starter. Agents draw on the plan's monthly credits. Extra credits cost one cent each, bought in account-wide packs or as pay-as-you-go. On Professional, the 3,000 included credits cover 30 prospecting agent leads a month.

AI toolCredits per unit of workCost after included credits
Breeze AssistantNone$0
Prospecting agent100 per lead recommended for outreach$1.00 per lead
Data agent10 per answer, per record$0.10 per record
AI action in a workflow10 per action$0.10 per action
Deal progression or Notetaker filling a custom property10 per property, per transcript$0.10 per property

Rates come from the rate sheet in HubSpot's product catalog, where extra credits cost $0.010 each. Custom properties filled from transcripts use 10 credits each per transcript, and standard properties use none (HubSpot).

A Professional team that wants 10 recommended leads per working day, about 200 a month, spends 20,000 credits on the prospecting agent. The 17,000 beyond the included 3,000 cost $170 a month. HubSpot moved the prospecting agent to per-lead pricing on 14 April 2026, replacing a monthly charge for every enrolled contact (HubSpot).

Credits reset monthly and unused ones expire. If you haven't bought extra credits, every credit-based feature pauses when the included ones run out, until the next reset. Credit packs bought since 16 September 2026 default to pay-as-you-go overages, capped at 50% above the account's monthly credits, packs included (HubSpot). Packs can only be canceled at the end of the contract term.

How do I turn on AI in HubSpot?

A Super Admin turns on HubSpot AI in the account settings: Settings, then Account Management, then AI, then the Access tab. Switch on generative AI, the data sources it may read and Breeze Assistant there. Agents are activated separately, one at a time, from Agents, then Agent Hub. Turning on the AI settings uses no credits.

  1. Sign in as a Super Admin. Only Super Admins can change AI settings.
  2. Open the AI settings. Click the settings icon in the top navigation bar. In the left sidebar, under Account Management, click AI.
  3. Turn on generative AI. On the Access tab, switch on "Give users access to generative AI tools and features". It is on by default.
  4. Give the AI your data. Switch on CRM data, Customer conversation data and Files data. Files data starts off, and the prospecting and data agents need all three.
  5. Turn on Breeze Assistant. Switch on "Give users access to Breeze Assistant". Reps open it from the Breeze Assistant icon in the top navigation bar.
  6. Decide on AI Model Training. It is on by default and lets HubSpot train its own models on your account's data.
  7. Turn on Notetaker. In Settings, click Notetaker, then switch on Conversation recording, Transcription and analysis, and Meetings. Each rep needs a connected calendar.
  8. Activate agents. Go to Agents, then Agent Hub. Click Activate on the prospecting agent or the data agent. For deal progression, a Super Admin joins its public beta, then clicks Set up deal progression.
  9. Cap the spend. Give agent permissions only to the people who need them. Then set a monthly credit limit per tool on the HubSpot Credits tab under Account & Billing.

Steps come from HubSpot's guides to AI settings (updated 8 September 2026), adopting AI (16 September 2026), Notetaker (9 October 2026) and Agent Hub (1 October 2026).

What can't HubSpot AI do?

HubSpot AI works only with data in HubSpot and its connected apps, so missing or duplicate records lead to wrong answers. Its agents pause when the account hits its credit limit. Updating deals from calls needs Professional, a beta enrollment and call recording set up first. Conversation analysis has a monthly cap that grows with paid seats.

  • It inherits your data quality. HubSpot's setup guide warns that incomplete, inconsistent or duplicate records give its AI tools inaccurate, outdated or conflicting information. Merge duplicates before you activate agents.
  • Deal updates take setup. Deal progression needs Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise, enrollment in a public beta, HubSpot's Notetaker or a Zoom, Teams or Google Meet connection with recording turned on, and a connected inbox for every rep (HubSpot). It suggests property updates and next steps for reps to approve, unless you turn on auto-updates.
  • Conversation analysis is capped. HubSpot's catalog caps conversational context, its AI analysis of calls, emails and chats, at 50 records per paid seat a month on Starter, 250 on Professional and 350 on Enterprise, pooled across the account. An account can add 5,000 more for $50 a month.
  • Notetaker covers three meeting tools. It joins Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom (HubSpot).
  • The prospecting agent looks back one year. It weighs the past year's engagements, such as page views, calls, meetings and notes (HubSpot).
  • Beta features can start costing credits. HubSpot's credits guide says it aims to give 30 days' notice before a beta feature consumes credits, but may not always manage it.

Yes. HubSpot has connectors that let Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini work with HubSpot data, and sales tools such as Spiich write meeting notes and deal updates into HubSpot. See Spiich for HubSpot.

Which HubSpot AI feature should a sales team turn on first?

Start with Notetaker, the HubSpot AI tool that records meetings and writes notes. It runs from Starter, uses no credits unless it fills custom properties, and gives deal progression the transcripts it works from. After two weeks, open five deals with meetings and check that notes and next steps appeared without anyone typing.

Add the prospecting agent next. After a month, divide its credit spend by the meetings its leads booked. If each meeting costs more than a rep's time to book one by hand, change who the agent targets before you raise its credit limit.
