## Is HubSpot or Salesforce better for B2B sales teams?

HubSpot is better for most B2B sales teams of 10 to 100 people: reps use it without training, sequences come with Professional, and it costs less per seat at every comparable tier. Salesforce is better when the complexity is real, with territories, approval chains, several products and someone whose job is running Salesforce.

For 20 reps with email sequences on annual billing, HubSpot Sales Hub Professional costs $23,100 in the first year, including its onboarding fee, and Salesforce Pro Suite with its Sales Engagement add-on costs $36,000. Salesforce's full-platform Core edition costs $46,800. Every price and limit here was checked on the vendors' own pages in October 2026, after Salesforce replaced its editions on 3 September.

## How do HubSpot and Salesforce compare?

HubSpot wins on cost, ease of use and what's included: sequences, calling minutes and an AI notetaker come in the box. Salesforce wins on depth: lead routing on every edition, a far larger app marketplace and room to model almost any sales process. Both have a 4.4 rating on G2.

## How much do HubSpot and Salesforce cost for a sales team?

HubSpot costs $20 a seat on Starter, $90 on Professional and $150 on Enterprise, billed annually, plus a one-time onboarding fee on the top two. Salesforce costs $25 on Starter Suite, $100 on Pro Suite, then $195, $395 and $550 for Core, Advanced and Max. Per seat, the entry and mid tiers are close; the gap opens above them.

At the top, Salesforce Core costs $195 a seat against $150 for HubSpot Enterprise, and HubSpot includes sequences where Salesforce sells them as an add-on.

| Team (annual billing, list price) | HubSpot | Salesforce |
|---|---|---|
| 6 reps, entry plan | Starter: $1,440 a year | Starter Suite: $1,800 a year |
| 20 reps with sequences | Professional: $21,600 + $1,500 onboarding | Pro Suite + Sales Engagement: $36,000 |
| 20 reps, full platform | Enterprise: $36,000 + $3,500 onboarding | Core: $46,800 |

Salesforce's Pro Suite looks close to HubSpot Professional, but three things sit outside it. Sequences need the Sales Engagement add-on at $50 per user a month ([Salesforce](https://www.salesforce.com/sales/engagement-platform/pricing/)). API access costs another $25 per user. Flow Builder is limited to five flows. HubSpot's onboarding fee makes small teams the exception: 6 reps on Professional cost $7,980 in the first year, against $7,200 on Salesforce Pro Suite before add-ons. HubSpot is also running a new-customer promotion that cuts Starter to $7 a seat, but its catalog lists $20 as the price.

On 3 September 2026, Salesforce replaced its Enterprise, Unlimited and Agentforce 1 editions with Core, Advanced and Max. The new editions bundle Agentforce, Slack and the Premier Success Plan, and Salesforce says existing customers keep their legacy pricing ([Salesforce](https://www.salesforce.com/news/stories/salesforce-simplifies-editions-2026/)).

## Which is easier to set up and get reps to use?

HubSpot. HubSpot says its team gets customers running in "days or weeks (not months)", without dedicated programmers ([HubSpot](https://www.hubspot.com/products/sales)). Salesforce says implementation can take a few weeks for small businesses and several months for larger enterprises ([Salesforce](https://www.salesforce.com/crm/crm-implementation/)). Our [best CRMs guide](https://spiich.ai/articles/best-crm-for-b2b-sales-teams) rates HubSpot's rep adoption well above Salesforce's.

That is the real cost difference, more than the license. Salesforce can model almost anything, but very little of it is on by default, so the value depends on someone configuring it well, often an admin or an implementation partner. HubSpot charges for onboarding on Professional and Enterprise, but the work is about setting up a product that already works out of the box. Our [HubSpot review](https://spiich.ai/articles/hubspot-for-b2b-saas-sales-teams) covers where that simplicity starts to limit you.

## When does Salesforce's depth matter?

Salesforce's depth matters when you sell several products through several motions, across territories, with approvals and audit requirements. It has lead assignment and routing on every edition, custom objects from Pro Suite, and territories, opportunity splits and full Flow Builder automation from Core. HubSpot keeps custom objects and deal splits on Enterprise.

If none of that describes you today, it is complexity you would be paying for in advance. If you are growing into it within two years, buying Salesforce now can be cheaper than [migrating later](https://spiich.ai/articles/crm-migration-cost). The [best CRMs for B2B sales teams](https://spiich.ai/articles/best-crm-for-b2b-sales-teams) puts it plainly: buy Salesforce when the complexity is real, not when it is aspirational.

## How do HubSpot's and Salesforce's AI features compare?

Both now charge for AI by usage. HubSpot includes 500 to 5,000 credits a month depending on plan, and its Notetaker records meetings from Starter. Salesforce bundles Agentforce into Core and up with 500,000 Flex Credits a year on Core, and its deeper sales agents are add-ons from $125 per user a month.

On HubSpot, the prospecting agent costs 100 credits per lead it recommends, and the data agent 10 credits per record ([HubSpot catalog](https://legal.hubspot.com/hubspot-product-and-services-catalog)). On Salesforce, an agent action uses 20 Flex Credits, about $0.10, and conversation intelligence starts at Core ([Salesforce](https://www.salesforce.com/agentforce/pricing/)). ## When should you choose HubSpot over Salesforce?

Choose HubSpot when marketing and sales should share one record and nobody wants to own CRM administration. Choose Salesforce when your sales process has rules that a simpler CRM can't enforce, and you're ready to pay someone to run it.

**Choose HubSpot if:**

- Marketing and sales need to work from the same contact record
- You want sequences, calling and meeting notes without add-ons
- You don't have, and don't want to hire, a CRM admin

**Choose Salesforce if:**

- You sell several products through several motions or territories
- Compliance means the CRM has to enforce approvals and be auditable
- You need integrations only its 12,000-app marketplace has

## How hard is it to switch between HubSpot and Salesforce?

Moving from Salesforce to HubSpot is the better-supported direction. HubSpot's Smart Transfer imports Salesforce data on every plan, and its ongoing Salesforce sync runs on Professional and up. HubSpot says most businesses complete the move from Salesforce within three months ([HubSpot](https://www.hubspot.com/switch-from-salesforce)). Salesforce has general import tools, but none built for HubSpot.

HubSpot's Smart Transfer is run by a super admin and moves data one way into HubSpot ([HubSpot](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/integrations/transfer-data-from-other-apps-using-hubspot-smart-transfer)). Going the other way, Salesforce's Data Import Wizard handles up to 50,000 records, and its Data Loader handles larger volumes. Records move cleanly in both directions. Workflows, reports and the habits around them don't, which is most of [what a CRM migration actually costs](https://spiich.ai/articles/crm-migration-cost).

## Frequently asked questions

### Is HubSpot cheaper than Salesforce?

Per seat, yes, at every comparable tier. 20 reps with sequences cost $21,600 a year on HubSpot Professional, plus $1,500 onboarding once, against $36,000 on Salesforce Pro Suite with Sales Engagement, or $46,800 on Core. For very small teams, HubSpot's onboarding fee can make the first year cost more. See our [HubSpot review](https://spiich.ai/articles/hubspot-for-b2b-saas-sales-teams).

### Can a small team use Salesforce?

Yes. Starter Suite at $25 a seat is built for small businesses and sets up in minutes. The question is whether you'll grow into the editions above it, which is where Salesforce's strengths and costs both sit. See [the best CRMs for B2B sales teams](https://spiich.ai/articles/best-crm-for-b2b-sales-teams).

### Does HubSpot replace Salesforce for enterprise teams?

For some. HubSpot Enterprise has custom objects, deal splits and sandboxes, and plenty of mid-market companies run on it. Teams with complex territories, multi-entity structures or strict audit rules usually stay on Salesforce. See [how to make HubSpot an agentic CRM](https://spiich.ai/articles/how-to-make-hubspot-an-agentic-crm).

### Does Spiich work with HubSpot and Salesforce?

Yes. Spiich writes meeting notes, deal updates and tasks into both. See [Spiich for HubSpot](https://spiich.ai/integrations/hubspot) and [Spiich for Salesforce](https://spiich.ai/integrations/salesforce).
